Governing is about choices and priorities. We can balance the budget without ending Social Security and Medicare. I’ve advocated for ending the Bush tax cuts for billionaires and the $8 billion annual subsidies for the largest oil companies.

Yet, Speaker Boehner has insisted on ending Medicare as we know it and is pursuing a plan to privatize Social Security (been there, already defeated that under President Bush).
