Ackerman statement on Allen West remarks comparing Dems to Nazis

U.S. Rep. Gary Ackerman (D-NY) today released the following statement on remarks made by Rep. Allen West (R-FL):
 
“Allen West must immediately apologize for equating the efforts of Democrats to the propaganda of Joseph Goebbels. This is exactly the type of rhetoric that turns people off to Washington and getting involved in politics. I call on Republicans and Democrats alike to join me in demanding an apology.”
 
West said yesterday “If Joseph Goebbels was around, he’d be very proud of the Democrat Party, because they have an incredible propaganda machine. Let’s be honest, you know, some of the people in the media are complicit with this, and enabling them to get that type of message out." Goebbels was the Nazi Minister of Propaganda.
